Ducati Diavel Service Manual: Removal of the front forks
Before removing the front forks, it is first necessary to remove the
following parts: 
Loosen the clamp screws (1) holding the fork legs to the steering head (3).
Loosen the clamp screws (2) and (26) securing the fork legs to the bottom yoke (4).
Withdraw the fork legs (5) and (6) downwards in order to carry out to all the necessary overhaul operations.

Overhauling the front forks
Note
It is advisable to loosen the top cap (14) when the fork is still fitted
to the motorcycle.

Other materials:
Refitting the intake manifold and coolant union
Apply prescribed threadlocker to the fitting (12), start it with seal (24)
and tighten it to a torque of 2.5 Nm (min. 2 Nm -
max. 3 Nm) (sect. 3 - 3, Frame torque settings).
Install the pipe (b) and tighten the clamp (a) to the torque of 1 nm +/- 10%
(sect. 3 - 3, Engine torque settings).
